Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

My name is Karen Z. and I am the proud mother of three children that are patients of The Children’s Clinic. They have been seen by wonderful Dr. Elisa Nicholas and staff for more than six years now.

My children have been diagnosed with classic autism, Asperger’s and PD NOS, as well as asthma, allergies, anxiety, a heart defect and severe gastrointestinal malformations that required surgery or medical prescriptions.

This facility has provided us with the appropriate treatment, referrals, and in-home training to care for our children, but most of all, they have been a magnificent source of emotional support for these overwhelming health and mental issues.

They have given us the ability and confidence to reach our goal of mainstreaming our children’s educational and health needs in a public school setting through the correct diagnoses and treatment for each child to achieve their current high functioning status, when outside facilities had failed to do so in the past.

The Children’s Clinic and its patients would benefit from this new computerizes documentation system because it would help to alleviate the waiting periods for referrals to specialty doctors and medication. This system would also aide in the correct documentation of vaccinations, as well as at hand records for same day appointments and lost printed records.

I know this from personal experience. My autistic son’s records were lost from birth to his third birthday on week before I was to meet with both the regional center and the school district. You can imagine how nerve wrecking this was.

In conclusion, I end this with a thank you to all of you and The Children’s Clinic for taking the time to listen and making such a difference in the lives of our future! Thank you.
