The staff at The Children’s
Clinic, Serving Children and Their Families plays a key role
in advocacy for the health and well-being of children and their families
in
the greater Long Beach area. The Clinic provides leadership for
the care of needy children and families on local, state and national levels.

to community services.

Advanced Access Collaborative, a collaborative to help reduce patient waiting times and to offer patients same day appointments. | |
BPHC Health Disparities Diabetes Collaborative, a collaborative between the California Primary Care Association, clinical networks, the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, to eliminate health disparities and improve clinical and functional outcomes to delay or decrease the complications of diabetes. | |
Latino Diabetes Prevention and Management Program , a collaborative with the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (LBDHHS). Participants learn current information about diabetes, diabetes self-management, diet and exercise. | |
TCC Asthma Program, a program dedicated to increasing the management of pediatric asthma, designed to reduce health disparities among children with asthma, though monitoring of clinic activities, home visits and clinic quality improvement. | |
Long Beach Alliance for Children with Asthma (LBACA), The Children’s Clinic provides leadership in a community coalition to change the profile of childhood asthma in the most affected areas of the City of Long Beach through improved, quality health care delivery, outreach, education, support systems, living environments and changes in policy at all levels. | |
Community Partners Council (CPC), a collaboration between The Children’s Clinic, the Community Partners Council and the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services to improve the health and well-being of residents in the community. | |
Healthy Lifestyles Program, a program designed to promote achievable lifestyle changes to mitigate the impact of obesity through educational materials, patient referrals to partnering programs including the Long Beach Health Department and staff education. | |
Reach Out and Read, a collaboration between The Children’s Clinic, Beach Cities Reading Association and AmeriCorps*VISTA, which provides literacy promotion activities for children and families. | |
Walk-in Immunizations, free walk-in immunizations for any child in the community meeting poverty and insurance guidelines. TCC has the highest immunization rates in the City of Long Beach currently over 11,000. | |
Lion’s Pediatric Eye Clinic, has provided approximately 1,053 comprehensive outpatient visits and 45 eye surgeries. | |
Best Practices in Childhood Asthma (BPCA) , a
program designed to reduce health disparities among California’s
school-aged
children with asthma, through on-going monitoring of clinic activities,
home visits and clinic quality improvement. |
