On Saturday October 27, 2007, The Children’s Clinic will hold its 17 th Annual Beach Walk at the Marina Green in downtown Long Beach. This special event will help to raise funds for the many services and programs The Children’s Clinic provides to thousands of uninsured and economically disadvantaged children and families in the Greater Long Beach community.

The Beach Walk is a fun and exciting event that draws hundreds of community members to take part in it every year. The day begins with a 5k walk around the picturesque downtown Long Beach bike path. After a short walk, participants will take part in a Wellness Fair which will include booths with information on various health and safety topics. The Long Beach Firefighters will prepare and serve participants delicious barbequed hotdogs while Dutchy’s Tropicana Band plays soothing Caribbean tunes. Awards will also be presented to the teams and walkers who raise the most money.

• Walking and soliciting donations
• Forming a team to walk
• Making a donation to support an individual walker or team

This year we hope to raise $80,000.00 and have 1,500 individuals participate in this event!

All proceeds from this event will go directly to funding the many services and programs The Children_s Clinic provides at its six sites in the city of Long Beach. Some of these services include preventative, acute and chronic health care to children, adolescents and adults and special programs.
