75th Anniversary Celebration

Dear Friend of The Children’s Clinic, “Serving Children and Their Families”:

On behalf of the Board of Directors, doctors, nurses and staff of The Children’s Clinic, “Serving Children and Their Families” (“TCC” for short), it is with great pleasure that we announce our 75th Anniversary Celebration with two spectacular events showcasing the true spirit of TCC.

Our anniversary weekend, themed Celebrating 75 Years of Serving, Caring, Growing and Healing, will celebrate TCC’s mission of providing “quality, integrated, innovative health care that will contribute to a healthy community, focusing on those in need and working with patients and the community as partners in their overall well-being.”

The celebration began on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. with our Annual 5k Beach Walk on the Marina Green in downtown Long Beach. Over 300 participants joined Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell, Dr. Elisa Nicholas, TCC’s CEO, and community partners for our annual event this past Saturday. Volunteers–representing Cal State Long Beach, Long Beach City College, Downey Adult School, and Cabrillo High School–arrived at 7:30 a.m. to set up for this family friendly event which raises funds to support the important work TCC provides for the greater Long Beach community. From the Kids 1K Race to the 5K Walk and TCC’s Health Education Department’s Healthy Lifestyles Village there was something for everyone.

The festivities continued on Sunday, October 26, 2014 with our 75th Anniversary Gala, which took place at Museum of Latin American Art’s beautiful sculpture garden in Long Beach.Over 300 guests attended the event, which not only raised funds for TCC but also honored individuals and organizations that have contributed to TCC’s work. Attendees included Congressman Alan Lowenthal; Los Angeles Supervisor Don Knabe and his wife, Julie; and Long Beach Police Chief, Jim McDonnell. The Gala also featured live entertainment–with children’s performance groups as well as ensembles from Long Beach Polytechnic High School’s music program–along with a live and silent auction.

We thank everyone for participating and supporting in our 75th Anniversary Weekend Celebration events! TCC could not do the work we do without your help!
